Hi
I just picked up a better-flowing TDI intake manifold for my non-TDI AAZ, and, being an old IDI guy, I am confused by all the openings in this manifold. What are the two openings for in the pictures below? Also, does anyone make blockoff plates for these holes?

Betting EGR for the smaller one.

Those two openings are for the EGR system... which is also why the manifold is full of black soot. ::)
The main EGR valve bolts onto the big hole... the smaller one is a feed thru the EGR water cooler.
There's an OEM part to block off the small one since industrial versions of the engine dont ship with that part of the EGR: 038 131 925
I've never seen a block off plate for the big one... folks just disable the vacuum that actuates the big valve and leave it in place.

ASK NICK AT STREETTOYS2000.COM ?
IF NOT CHECK OUT IDIPARTS.COM
Why didnt you just get a PD130 ?
I hope it was cheap to pay for the headache ?

PD130 = $400
This manifold = CHEAP
Looks like I'll just cut a plug and weld it in. :)

my manifolds are not $400! more like $240 next day delivery! yours is from a transporter van so you will need a custom block off plate as no-one i've seen has used them!

Mine is from a Passat. The intake is on the opposite side from most.

my bad, the new 4pot transorters have those intakes, they get a little narrower ner to the ports compared to the PD150's. i can get intakes to face the cam or gearbox end!
