I have a 16v gas pressure plate and clutch disc for my 1.9 and I need to know what flywheel I can use and if I should have it resurfaced. I also need to know what specs I need to tell the machine man to chop it down to. Lots of people use a 210mm gas flywheel but what from? 2.0 ABA? 1.8 16v? 1.9td from canada? Please help. Thanks.

any gas engine with a 210mm flywheel will work as long as its for an 020 trans. just remember to get the timing mark put on it if it doesnt have one. and i remember someone saying to machine the big ring off the flywheel. the big thick ring in front of the ring gear.

Lots of threads on this. Resurface the flywheel if it looks shiny. I used the stock diesel flywheel (1.9) and cut the ring as far as I could while leaving the balancing cuts alone. Dropped the weight from about 14 lbs to about 10. Next one I do will be cut farther.

usually people cut the front a little bit too.

I used the stock 1.9 flywheel (210mm). I've driven cars with a lightened wheel and didn't like it at all. I then installed a full ACT clutch assembly. At 220 Ft Lbs, I never have a slip. ;D

I got one from these guys. Talked to a guy named George (sounded like it should have been Horhey) anyhow pretty much anything they do they will custom make for you. I got a 210mm sprung hub 6 puck disc with a red 210 pp...just make sure it is all the correct spline no matter where you get it.
