Title: does Giles buy cores?
Post by: truckinwagen on January 24, 2010, 08:49:44 pm
any one know?

I have three injection pumps lying around that leak and could use a rebuild, but no one wants to buy them, I also have a few extra sets of injectors taking up space, so I was thinking about selling them as cores to a rebuilder.

anyone know if giles buys cores?

Mine was full of rust

That's putting it lightly :o Did he email you the pictures?

Typically Giles will buy cores but it depends on what you have to offer.

Like Vince said, Giles checks his email daily (weekdays)

If you are sending a pump, please, remove the OUT bolt and drain the fuel out of it. Then bag it up. The CanadaPost delivery guy is getting mad at us because we are making his truck smell funny and contaminating his other mail. Seriously. Also, once you have packed the pump up give the box a good hard shaking. If you can feel stuff moving put more newspaper in it. It will get smashed up during transit. Styrofoam does not make good packing material (including noodles) Diesel fuel eats it.

Plan for this, because it happens alot

UPS Employees at their best! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrbIgBDT-fE#)

UPSP is the best company for cross-border shipping. Not UPS, not FedEx and not Purolator.

I sent him an email, and am talking to him about the process of buying cores.

I am a true believer in USPS, it is consistently the cheapest, fastest, and most reliable for domestic and international shipping.

I shipped a clutch thru purolator to Northern Ontario. The guy received the Box and the clutch was sitting on top of the box at his door.

Yes I got the photo's of that bad rusty one, I sent out my pump braket and alternator bracket and got them back to today ready for the OHC stuff, I found what I needed in the way of S/S metric hardware for the install.

Looking forward to it...
