Title: Injector pump leaks and replacing seals
Post by: DutchTouch on November 02, 2005, 05:44:44 pm
Just picked up a set of seals for my Bosch VE-R for an 82 Audi 1.6 diesel.

Can anyone direct me to a post or links that shows a schematic of the pump?

Also, anyone that can point out the 3 or 4 most common seals that go and start weeping on this pump?  Some pics would be greatly appreciated since right now I don't have a Bosch schematic or correct part names to go by on the pump.

BTW the pump kit I got has the Bosch part number DGK 126, and it is a seal kit.

About $16.00.

I've done a search, just can't seem to find the post Janb was referring to?

Thanks

T

There are three seals that should be put on while the pump is off the car.

1* The shaft seal ... I don't think there is one of these in your DGK 126 seal set. It is usually sold seperately to match the shaft size. This one can be changed while the pump is mounted to the engine and the timing belt is off.

2* the cold start lever o-rings

3* The big o-ring that goes between the metal head and the aluminum body.

I can't find the post with pictures of the inside of the pump either.
