I've got a FF tranny that needs a rebuild, 3rd and 4th syncros are completely gone.
Has anyone heard of/bought from this place? http://www.zelek.com/VW020_Hard_Parts.htm (http://www.zelek.com/VW020_Hard_Parts.htm)
Are they quality parts? I see they have a ring gear bolt kit for $50 that's a lot cheaper than anywhere else I've found.
I'm having a hard time figuring out if their parts will fit my early/pre '84 tranny.........

Except for the fact that you live in AK, I can't believe it's worth the effort to rebuild an 020. There are still plenty of them around that have lots of life left in them. Heck, I have about 5 of them stashed away myself...
Don't you ever take vacations?

Indeed! And if you wanna talk about getting hard to find... try finding B-platform transmission parts...
Or subframe bushings. ::)

VWs are everywhere here. people just drive them till the first thing goes wrong, then they scrap it.
