Title: Fuel filter question
Post by: ein bora on January 07, 2010, 10:02:22 am
Had some contaminate issues with my pump and injectors - does anybody know what the micron's are for the vw canister diesel fuel filters?? I'm thinking about adding a second filter, and would like to use an even finer one.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The most common one's on the market are 10 micron..  Never saw anything higher than that..   I think I have seen some higher end filters that are 5 micron..   I've seen alot of people use Baldwin and Standyne 2 micron filters and housings...

Actually just bought a Standyne filter set up from giles who's also just done a performance rebuild on my pump. This has a glass bowl on the bottom as well as being a double filter.

Thanks for the info.

Just remember when you swap from the "normal flow filter" that will come attached to the filter head to the 2 micron "reverse flow filter" you will need to swap the lines around on the filter head.

Give Giles a call if that doesn't make sense (I doubt it does)
