Title: Air bag light

The air bag light came on today on my wife's 96 Jetta (gas) have no idea what this means any insight here?

It means that the airbag ecu has seen a fault. possibly the spiral behind the steering wheel, seat belt switch, etc,etc. find some one with a good scanner to find out
