Title: K Frame swap
Post by: macka on December 07, 2009, 05:59:46 am
I am planning to do a K frame swap. Can I use a mk3 K frame? Is the mk2 K frame better? I am thinking that I could just get a mk3 AAZ with a basket body and a solid motor, and do the swap. Yes? No? Enlighten me please.

K-frame swap into what?  For what reason?

If your A2 or A3 car has a good k-frame, there is no reason to swap it for anything else.

My mk2 has in iffy (in my eyes) K frame. It has a pinhole rust hole in it, so I want to swap it out instead of repairing it. So will a mk3 K frame swap in?

Im not entirely sure but I think the swap allows for easier installation of mk 3 engines/ suspension components. Possibly also some clearance issues with Exhaust and turbo setups too.
