We had a couple days of -30F and it already ripped my pass side cv boot!!!!! >:( They where both new last winter too, also replaced last winter were the steering rack boots after my two year old ones both ripped. :( Parts are getting so junky, I've replaced some stuff for the fun (and 'cause I could get stuff real cheap) of it only to have it go bad 1-2 years later.
This rant was brought on because I decided to change one of my tranny output seals, it had been seeping for a while but it's gotten so it's making a mess. I even had a new seal to put in. ::)
I and in the process of pulling the out the old one I gouged a groove in the tranny right where the seal sits, like a deep straight line spanning the whole width of the surface >:( I don't know how I did that I thought I was being careful.
So I ride the ol' honda big red to Napa to get some jb kwik to fill in the groove, got that done, sanded and smooth enough to slap in the new seal.......Then discovered the new seal I had was for the newer trannys with 100mm flanges, so here I sit, Napa can get it tomorrow if it makes it on this order.

Imagine dealing with a similar scenario on a daily basis, sometimes several times in a day, for a living!!!
ALthough it still always seems worse on my own stuff.. I was putting some new sneakers on the front of the bunny tonight only to realize that one of the strut bearings that I replaced a year ago is crap... I had hoped they would have lasted a bit mroe than 50,000 miles.. I even sprung for the complete new mount assembly made in Germany.....

So after doing all I could on the rabbit, I was gonna drive the Big Red to the lake to go fishing.........but first, I had to fix a small oil leak. ::)
I found the problem easy, a missing o-ring where the oil drains from the high/low gearbox back into the tranny. I couldn't find an o-ring and by now Napa is closed (I couldn't go anywhere anyways since the rabbit is still waiting for the seal) so proceded to make one. That went smooth enough then all I had to do was put it together.
I must've been in a hurry, I forgot to make sure the cover (aluminum, and houses the stator and keeps oil in) was fully seated before tightening it :-[. So I'm tightening it down and it goes POP!!!! aaaarrrrg, busted a bolt hole off of the cover and the break went across the side of the o-ring hole!!!! I'm tellin' you, this is not my day!!! >:(
So out comes the jb kwik for the second time today. But I will win and I WILL go ice fishing tonight, it's only 7:04PM I still have time :D (the JB kwik isn't dry yet though) ::)

I left to go fish at 9PM, the 3-wheeler fix was a success and I caught one little fish ( ;D), got home at 1AM.

Sadly, I was humane and kicked him back into the hole with a sore mouth ::) and I didn't have a camera so I'll never see him again :(, it was a rainbow trout about 8 inches long.

haha ever see that picture of the fisherman telling about 'the one that got away'? His arms were like 6ft long :D
I've heard of steelheads (I think that's just a rainbow that's not landlocked) getting up to 2 1/2 feet but the biggest inland ones I've seen were probly 18-20 inches, 8-12 is most common.
