When i purchased my 91 parts car it came with the alternator that was on the engine (65 amp i presume) and one that came with.. now i am unsure if it is also a 65.. 75.. or a 90? (these are all the ones ive heard floating around).
How can I tell what's what :) ?
Also! instead of starting another three line thread lol.. Do 81's come with a oil baffle under the Valve Cover? My 91 has one.. but i haven't taken the VC off the 81 yet.. and want to know if i should throw it in on the next order.

From the factory I haven't seen an 81 with a cover...take the oil cap off and look ;)

Cam splash gaurds came out with the use of hydraulic lifters for both the gas and diesel engine

IF there is still a sticker left on the casing it'll usually be on there, or stamped into the casing somewhere, usually around the sides..

Look at the alternator connector. IIRC the 90 amp ones have a more heavy duty stud, nut and eye terminal type connection while the lower amp ones have spade connectors that push on. I think all of them are otherwise pretty similar. Also, IIRC the 90 amp alternators came with air conditioned mk2 cars, without a/c you get the lower ampere unit.
