Title: Oil Change Question

My '86 turbo just drove up from Mexico and during the trip I added about 4qts of oil for the 6k/mi or 10k/kilo drive...because so much oil has been added, is it still neccessary to drain the oil completely or just maybe change out the filter Only and then next time do a complete oil change...I am not trying to be cheap here, just trying to conserve

You are better off changing the oil as well. There is a lot of soot in the oil that the filter will not catch.

...That is what I thought concerning the soot
