Welcome to CIS-e.
Neither car appears as though it has seen salt?
-
That Merc looks like it just rolled out of a museum. Are they all autos? Now all you got to do is put a big vnt on there a la Libby. ;D
-
Nice looking cars.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think all diesel MBs were auto in North America.
-
Just to get you off on the correct foot, that is a 300D. A TD would be the wagon version (300TD). Yes, that one is a turbodiesel. You just have to know that US 300Ds were turbos from 1982 to 1985. 300TDs were turbodiesels from 1981 to 85. Still with me? Then there were 300CDs.....
All US models of the 300Ds and 300SDs were automatics. 240Ds could be had in stick or automatic, if you had the time.

Aren't the turbo diesel 300D's are also referred to as a 300DT.. I think it may have been some parts vendors that list them as that....

Yes, they can be called that, but that's simply not the correct model designation (although it does make it clearer). Mercedes sometimes just wasn't all that logical. Case in point the 300D 2.5 which had a 2.5 (not 3.0) litre six- banger. Or the US 450SL circa 1972 which had a 3.5 litre gas engine......

This thing is CLEAN for sure.
As noted already all of these cars are autos (300) at least.
Ordered new injectors for it yesterday, 190k om the stockers :o. New ones will feel much better I'm thinking.
-
Any new injector is better than an old injector.
Hope you got Bosios or Monarks instead of Boschs....

Um, why?
I've never had any problems with Bosch units as long as they were complete.
Freakin Bosio tips alone are double the price of the Bosch units.

just have to get the vacuum set for the trans and I'll be happy.

Are you replacing all the vacuum lines to the tranny, or all the vacuum lines?
