Without starting a turf war, just curious as to the difference between a Zukgod IP and a 'Gilesfied' IP? Or is it a regional thing?
Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy

This is a bad ass car guys..
We all know how easy it is to spend a big pile on these things well Mark never scrimped on anything. His fabrication skills are second to none as well.
Awesome car for who ever gets it.
I'm now in a 85 Merc TD ;D Find one Mark, lets build em up!!!
-
thanks Dan.... 8)
I have a couple good offers...but I gotta be honest...I'm having 2nd thoughts about selling it...I really like it and only losing 2-3psi of boost between gear shifts is amazing with the ball bearing turbo. ;D :o
we will see what happens............?
-
Did you ever dyno that bad boy? I just read through your entire build thread and I can't believe you're selling that beauty. Shame on you. ;)

I have not dynoed it yet.....I know....like I said I'm having 2nd thoughts....I got a buyer who wants to come get it..but now that he really wants it I'm not sure I should sell it..lol :P
this is a great little car with a pile of mods and money dumped into it...it's pretty much a new car at this point.

Yeah man. DOn't sell it...unless it is to me and for 1/2 of what you have in it ;D.
If you only could have had this 2 years ago when I started my jetta I would probably bought yours. Now its too late.

Don't sell it, its a beautiful car. I've never seen a MK2 look like that.

I was wanting to vomit after reading you were going to sell. Thinking about all the time I have in mine and it is crap compared to yours and mine isnt even done. I would have definately wanted it if I didn't have my project going. Great job on the car.

hahaha thanks Dan...but this time I think I am gonna sell it.. got a few people real interested...

had lots of request for more pics and int pics...just give me a couple days and I will post them 8)

some updated info on the car...
1) the car was leaking from the front flange on the head...I have the alum flanges witch is a nice bonus..but they have some pitting.
the engine on this car is in great shape..it only has 3,500 miles on it....yes it still has some bugs and things I would like to change...but I'm just not wanting to put the money into it anymore.
2)front brakes on the car are fine plenty of life left..I installed new swaybar bushings and TT control arm bushings aswell.
I do feel that it could use new shocks..but did not want to buy just shocks so I was saving up for a set of coilovers.
3)yes the round head lights do have high beam bulbs...but the switch is not working correctly..I took it apart when doing the build and now the switch does not "click" like it did before.
4)yes it still has the wicked BB turbo...lighting it off really is gonna depend on your altitude...it's a bit slow up to 8psi...then it rockets from 8-25psi in the blink of an eye...with only 2-5psi boost drop between shifts!!!
5)the int switches that dont work are the high beam..and I disconnected the power sunroof power....the PO had it wired a bit odd and I was gonna go back and redo it when I got some time but just have not bothered with it.
the PO also has a 6 dic changer(really old) and had some rca set up's and weird speaker wiring...I have only hooked up the front door speakers to the car radio for now.
ALL the OEM gauges work...then it has my isspro aftermarket gauges like pyro, boost, manifold back pressure, oil psi and a water temp gauge.
the one I had trouble with is the oil psi..I had the sender mounted right on the head and the vibrations that the diesel put out caused it to start acting weird..I of course flipped out thinking I might have some other issues..but once I put my test mechanical gauge on I noticed it was just the isspro's electric sender going crazy I moved the sender with a small hose over to the firewall it reads now..but reads way high..it will need a new sender...PLEASE NOTE! the factory oil psi switches and warning STILL work and I have verified good healthy psi at the head and oil filter flange.
6) couple other things that need addressing is the rear 3" exhaust pipe over the axle..it rattles a bit on take off..I think the best fix would be a the NON hydro VW rear mount it drives fine with the hydro mount but does feel a bit too soft for my likings.
the speedo cable grommet has been leaking a bit but I will have that fixed in the next few day as my part is at the dealer waiting for me.
this is a great car with everything I built... built really well....but I'm not gonna lie it still needs some of these little bugs worked out to make it 100% clean
oh yeah other thing was the intercooler piping is rattling sometimes from where it goes into the bumper and to the IC...not a big deal just one of those things that needs to be tweaked a bit more and clearanced.
I have also removed the AC condenser I think it was blocking to much airflow.
thanks for looking let me know any other questions you got
mark

What about taking the oil psi from the oil filter adapter hiusing, I did this for my oil psi/Temp
Mcnally gaugeadapter tee ( 1/8 NPT )screws right in
GB

the isspro oil gauge is only 80psi....oil filter flange mounting it would peg the gauge BAD and probably ruin the gauge and or sender....
-
Ok
is the Title Diesel or was this a gas conversion ?
What about the sunroof and do you still have the a/c condenser ?
GB
-
It is a conversion....but I had the title changed to diesel before I even registered it for the first time..so it will be easy to register!
The sun roof worked before I took the dash apart..now it just need to be rehooked up.
The ac in this car worked really really good when I had the gas engine in...I took the comp off the 16v and mounted it on the diesel...but have never hooked it up.
The tube on the condensor broke so it will need a new/junk yard condensor and a full recharge to get the ac working.
-
WOW I'm sitting here making a list of all the things I spent money on and bought for this car and it's kinda making me sick :o...haha
now I remember why I don't keep and add up my receipts....I have a PILE of cash into this car :o :o ...it's a steal at $5,200
I will update with the list soon..... 8)
-
Yeah I know. I hate you a little. I know I have more in my bomb than you are selling this for. Yours is nicer by far...and done. I just wish we could see it run before it goes away, probably never to be seen again ;)
-

It just makes me sad Mark..

Your such a tease!!! 8)
-
You will be glad you kept it... Every time I look at old pics of my 85 TD jetta I kick myself for selling it. Seemed like a good idea at the time of course. Your car is way nicer than mine was! Just getting one rebuilt/running/reliable is a ton of work as it is. Add in all the custom and performance stuff and you really have alot invested. At least keep it and get some use and enjoyment out of it for a few years anyway.
Your build is one of my favorites, the car just looks damn good!
