I wanted to mention that there are TWO DIFFERENT styles of lines for the 1.6TD motors.  There are ones that fit the short delivery valves and ones that fit the long valves that came on the ECO pumps.  He only lists one style and so you're taking a crap shoot as to which ones you're going to get.

Great, looks like I HAVE to get a set now....since I'm switching from ECO to LDA pump

I looked in my catelog from "thepartsplace", they discribe "the check valves on later plumps (91-92) are longer, therefore the lines are shorter"

Sounds like they are talking about ECO pumps. And their prices are outrageous.

You can swap the delivery valves from one pump to the other.  They just have to match the lines and vice versa.

I'm going to get in touch with Giles and see which ones he's going to put on my pump and order the lines accordingly. I assume he'll put the shorter valves on the LDA pump, from what you described it seems that's the standard for that pump.

There's an aftermarket company making the lines now - Cohline.  They tweaked the design slightly so there's no longer a 'turbo' and 'NA' version, you just get the one single shape that fits both pumps.  The same factory clamps work but I have no idea if you can mix and match the Cohline lines and the VW lines together.

If they're VW, then there's a turbo and NA version, if they're Cohline (which if they're new they probably are) then it's "one size fits all".  Oh, btw they also changed the shape of the #2 line that breaks off all the time on the VW turbo line sets.

A good friend of mine bought some flexible injector pipes from Amertica for his mk3 Golf estate a few years ago, but hasnt been able to find any paperwork to say where he got them from, has anyone else seen anything like that?

Apparently theyre Uber high pressure and dont snap due to being flexible  ;)

That would work too, any hydraulic shop can make a set that would work but would cost an arm and a leg

Got a hold of Giles today, he's putting the short fitting on my pump, so i need the long lines.

I can get a complete new set, including the two new long lines for 1 & 2 for $190 plus shipping from thepartsplace.

That is outrageous, or i could just get the 1 & 2 longer lines for $140, still outrageous.

FWIW, the lines are all the same length, they are just bent differently to fit the delivery valve length.  It looks like that eBay link would give you a new set for $70.

I asked the seller what pump they were made for.

His reply was that hey are for the "original TD pumps, no an NA pump"

So the TD pumps had the shorter valves and longer lines, and i should be good ordering the ebay set it sounds like.

Either way i can probably bend them to fit if need be.

The TD lines are bent differently than the NA lines to clear the "spaceship" boost controlled enrichment device on top of the injection pump. The #2 line looks like one of those silly straws and has about 4 more bends in it than it really needs IMHO. The eco-diesel is different still.

I really advise against trying to bend the lines. They are not easy to bend and they are rather fragile on these cars compared to other diesels, I think. Bending them or even manhandling them during repairs (loosen the nuts if you are going to be moving the injection pump) tends to cause them to fail.

Either suck it up and pay the price for new lines or wait for a good used set to come along. They turn up here in the "for sale" forum every now and then.
