Title: anyone know what an ALH should be timed to?

is it gona be 1mm? or isnt it important because of the knock sensor?

ALH timing is set with VAG-COM. And there isn't a knock sensor either.

whats the 3rd injector about then? the pump piston must be at a certain depth at TDC does anyone know what it is? what is it on a 1Z? its probly the same

It's a needle lift sensor that tells the computer when start of injection has occurred, which is fed back to the ECU as one of the many feedback loops.

As far as I know there's no published piston depth at TDC... best bet is to find someone with VAG COM and do er right.
