Title: How long to remove the head on an 01 jetta TDI?
Post by: topless96 on October 01, 2009, 04:48:14 pm: Anyone have an idea as to how many hours to take off the head for a 01 jetta? trying to decide if I should remove the motor tranny combo and rebuild or just fix the head. timing went off from loose cam bolt I was told. it would be a good time to build a good motor, but also might just be worth getting on the road.

obviously if the timing has slipped you wont need to take the head off unless its bent sumit

are you talking about an ALH? head off is mega easy

Post by: topless96 on October 18, 2009, 03:18:18 pm: I was, it's a 2000 TDI. Sorry was away on business for a week. I guess form what it looks like, it comes out from the bottom. I guess I will see if I can do it this week. can't find any How to on the sites.

I was thinking about changing the HG on my parents TDI and maybe cleaning the head up a bit. checking how the valves seat.
