Title: starter ground
Post by: Zulfiqar on August 19, 2009, 04:36:16 am
Hi guys

me and some mates were fiddling around with a starter rebuild, anyway - after 2 new bushes in the motor the point is

As we all know that the diesel starter is PMDC motor, hence no field magnet coils, the entire ground circuit is routed by the tiny screw on the end of the starter also holding the C-clip, so we got a similar screw made of silver (2 free electrons are better than 1) buffed the entire mounting, brush set etc etc with a brass brush bolted to a drill, made a ground connection of thin stranded wire coming directly to the negative of the battery - believe it or not thats all the starter was asking for - it spun real fast,
