Title: Governor differences on NA vs. TD pumps
Post by: lord_verminaard on August 10, 2009, 07:56:10 am
Just to clarify, is there a difference between the governor setup on an N/A  or TD pump?  I thought I read somewhere that the NA pumps are slightly higher but want to know for sure.  Thanks!

heres something to testify.

i took a n/a pump and my TD pump, took them both completely apart.
when i was done, i had one working franken pump. and im pretty sure i used the governor assy out of the n/a pump.

you are talking about the governor setup with the lever and and spinnin weights right? and not the governor spring assy?
also, the plate that the governor pushes on is also n/a in my pump.

The bentley says the NA max rpm is 100-200 more than the TD, I forgot the exact numbers.
I don't know why they care which one spins faster, I doubt the difference is a pump part, probly just turn the max rpm screw in a bit more.
