well just created a profile on here figured diesel guys are the best people to ask for diesel advice

let me be the first to say this is all new to me, i have learned a lot in the last bit but b4 a few months ago i new next to nothing about mk2's diesel's and turbo's  I am a mk3 aba guy  ::)

i am in a bit of a stand still

the mk3 Donner car i bought - 95 aaz the turbo on it, k03 turbo, it is no good

so i am stuck wondering if i should get it rebuilt, get the same turbo used in good shape (if i can even find one) or get a different oem turbo or get a different aftermarket one

for right now i just want the car to be simple and efficient turn key every morning good to drive in the winter ect.  don't need a crazy amount of power but a little extra never hurt anyone right

was planning on running 2.5" exhaust no cat no muffler was told it should still be fairly quiet as the turbo quiets it down, don't rely want to mess with the injection pump as of right now

a buddy of mine had this turbo kicking around not sure if it would be a good idea to put it on or not

next question

mk3 diesel fuel tank going to be running it in the mk2, wondering if i should change these check valves

i asked my buddy at the dealer and this is what he had 2 say "... they're check valves so the fuel does run back out the line draining if from the injection pump causing air lock in the injectors.....

so my question is do they fail, or they last 4 ever, i am going to change the rusty connections for some new fuel clamp lines and make it all nice

Why not test the check valves when you have it apart? Clean them out first with Simple Green. then pressurize it with air. In one direction it should seal, in the other should flow.

okay so its that simple, just used compressed air ?

and i am cleaning the inside of them ? 

they would be all dirty just from fuel going through them?
