We assure you, we investigate all engines for their use and demand inthe North American region. However, at this time, there are no plans tooffer the GTD model in the United States or Canada. The 2010 Golf VI will feature an optional 2.0 TDI clean diesel engine,which will produce 140-horsepower at 4000 rpm and an impressive 236lbs.-ft. of torque between 1750 and 2500 rpm, bringing a no compromisesalternative fuel driving experience to the all new Golf.

As I drive my 1986 Golf Diesel throughout the country side (Mainly Indiana) I have several ppl ask me about it and the fuel economy. They cannot believe that this old diesel car gets close to 50 MPG. I myself and thousands of others would buy the GTD and the Polo if offered in North America!!!
