BFI used to make a front motor mount support that bolted to the bumper attachment bolts. Would anyone have one that they're not using?

wow I have never seen one of those before...what exactly does it do? looks like a snowplow pushplate almost kinda sorta.

oh oh is that like a major stiffening device for a high revving mk 1 car? that would really tighten things up down low on the front of the vehicle wouldn't it.

It's a reinforcement to prevent deforming of the front crossmember by a HIGH torque diesel.
