Title: Replacing my vcover gasket, shoudl I re-torque the head? Manual says 'no'
Post by: Pre95 on June 29, 2009, 09:03:19 am
On my 1.6 N/A diesel I know the head gasket was done before I purchased the car, but the valve cover leaks a bit. I have a new gasket in the mail and was wondering if I should re-torque the head whiles its open? My Hayes manual says to not re-torque the cylinder head bolts after a gasket replacement, but figured I would ask the knowledge base here on there thoughts.

And if I should re-torque, does anyone have the torque specs? Hayes seems to not bother putting ANY torque specs in there book... quite annoying actually.... I need a bentley.
