When I did the timing belt, I found an error in my Bently under: Fuel system-Diesel, 5.4 Camshaft/Injection pump drive belt, step 7. Remove the 2 bolts and one nut holding the lower drive belt cover, then remove the cover.
Problem is it left out the crucial step of: remove the 4 Allen head bolts on the vibration damper and remove the vibration damper, before the cover can be removed.
I called Bently in Cambridge MA and asked if there are other errors and was led to this link of 3 reported errors:

If you know of anymore , please report it here.

hello - didn't know there was a book that covered the Turbo Diesel?
we have haynes manuals over here but only for the petrol!
Would this cover a UK spec GTD (SB code engine) does anyone know?
-
Yes it does, but you will still need to keep an eye on this forum for the information that VW doesn't want to share to the European customers. ::) The SB is a Bloody good engine if you get a good one. But won't suffer fools if you don't get the timing belt right.

no idea - bought it with 230000 miles - belt was done at 190000 so due soon. hoping to time it in with advanced timing - 0.95 to 1.05 i think as per guides on this site and the governor mod etc but need to find someone who i can trust to do this.
off to ebay now to find that book!

Nate, if you find someone selling them in the UK let me know ;D
I've got the normal one too and doesn't help now I've got a GTD :(
Mind you I got most of my info from the guys @ the GGTI forum ;D Good bunch of people.
