Title: Parting 1984 Jetta TD
Post by: ilikevwdiesel on June 18, 2009, 05:45:25 am
Picked up an 84 Jetta TD rust out for parts. If anyone needs any odd ball parts off it pm me please. The engine/trans is out already, over the next week I'm going to strip the interior and any other good stuff then fill it up with scrap and crush it.

CAR HAS BEEN CRUSHED  ;D

If it has the thick molding I'll take the ones for both front doors. If the remote mirrors work and are not the flag style I may be interested depending on price.

You can see what it missing and the style I need in this picture

Yeah it has the moldings on the doors. the mirrors aren't that great, the drivers side mirror glass is poor and the pass side has damage to the housing. The car is the same color as yours.

Ok how much for the molding shipped to m1k 2b1 Ontario?

I know I need more things I just can't remember...

do you mind if the molding is rolled up or does it have to be in a tube? get a list together and I'll get you other stuff too if you want. It's not going anyplace fast looks like I'll be keeping it for a few weeks most likely. How about a superpump for that piece of molding?  ;) ;) ;)

This car has factory AC, so it has stiff springs in the front. If anyone has a mk 1 without factory air they're an awesome upgrade.

I'd prefer them in a tube, or put between 2 pieces of cardboard.

I don't have the car anymore, it's my moms so I doubt I'll remember anything else ???

Do you have a gauge cluster, possibly with a tach?

I have the instrument cluster but it has a clock no tach sorry. I'll take 25.00$ for that plus USPS shipping.

I'm consider it.

I'm thinking about converting a gas engine cluster to use the diesel "w" terminal signal, there is a thread in the FAQ section about this.

yeah that's doable you need some kind of aftermarket signal calibrator I've seen them on ebay.

I thought you could just remove and replace some of the components on the tachometer printed circuit board as described here (http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=3741.0)

Have soldering gun...will travel.
