I already upgraded to the one piece rubber gasket with shoulderless studs but it is still seeping a little on the corner by the turbo, dripping down on the manifold. What's the trick to make it totally dry? I didn't go crazy tightening the 8 nuts- didn't want to crush the gasket or bend the valve cover. Do I need to tighten them more?

your valve cover may already be bent. How tight did you tighten them?

Are you using the two metal bars that go between the nuts and the valve cover?

My guess is I torqued them to 2 ft lbs at most? I used a 1/4" drive and held the rachet at 1 inch and did not crank on it. I can take the valve cover off and put a straight edge to check if it's bent. I am using the metal bars. What seals between the valve cover/metal bar/nut? There should really be gaskets there no? Looks like a hoaky design.
