Anybody know if using a hyd lifter gasket on a mech. lifter motor is kosher? Anyone ever done it and if so how'd you make out?

well that's a drag. I picked up an 84 TD motor today, pulled the head cause the gasket was bad and to have a look in there. The old gasket was two holes and I have a new one with two holes for hydraulics. Anyone have a two hole mechanical they want to trade or sell?

lol - I have one original goetze VW part mechanical gasket - ordered it wrongly - but the shipping cost would be stupidly high to you

Yes I don't think your gasket would make much sense for me...   :D
