hi all,anyone know what causes the engine revs to go up and down [just above idle 1000/1200 rpm].

Make sure all the IP mounting bolts are tight and that the brackets aren't cracked.

thanks for that,the fixings are all ok,it could be a mis-fire as the engine shakes a bit [i know of two other vans with the same problem!], my knowledge of injection pumps is a bit limited,could it be sucking air at those revs? [ i p drive shaft has a bit of radial play ].

Yes, air can cause missing.

A clear fuel hose feeding the IP would let you see if there's bubbles.

Mine does this a little bit too when its warming up but seems to stop once it gets up to operating temperature. I dont worry about it.

Where in the world does a person get that clear hose at anyway.  Tractor Supply has some that says "Chemical Reistant" and I've been tempted to try it, what does anybody think about this?

Auto parts store can get it for you. Some carry it in stock. Just tell them you need clear fuel line. They should
be able to hook you up.
