Title: oil leak

i drove up to my buddys cottage last night (good 1.5hr journey) it held oil befor fine. i got home and in the morning a good 1L of oil was on the drive way. i took a look at it and its coming form the oil filter housing. i pulled it all appart and there doesnt seem to be any damage to the plate it self or the guasket behind it. any ideas?:s

A common spot for oil leakage at the oil filter housing is from the cooler to filter base o-ring.  Sometimes the 1 1/16" nut that holds it all together comes loose or the o-ring dries out.
