Title: Wide Rims?

Whats the widest rim i could put on a 97 Mk3, I plan on lowering it 1.5 inches, and I'm thinking of running either a 15 or 16.
I want to go with a look something like that...

it all depends on the offset (et). i have a set of 15s on my mk2 but they have a offset of 24 and they batter my arches i think standard offset is 38. hope bthis helps
