i have a mk4 tdi block can i put a 1.6 idi head on it.

A hydraulic head might bolt on, but thats it. The pistons will not work with the IDI head, the compression will be way low. IDI pistons will not fit the TDI block, even 1.9IDI pistons have different pin height, so you would need custom pistons. There are other differences that would have to be overcome as well, suffice to say it isn't worth the effort.

a mk4 tdi block hgas differnet oil drain back shape then earlier tdis and gassers or idi deisels so the headbolts might line up but it won't work...
