Title: timing belt damage TDI
Post by: dieselherb1 on May 02, 2009, 05:05:20 pm
I have a 2000 TDI engine TB broke. Main damage cam, lifters, valve stems. Is there a easy method to removing mashed lifters and bent stems? Pistons look fine, head has a few marks only.
Thanks Herb

Had the same problem with a 1.6IDI head, valve stems driven into the lifters, could not pull the lifters out. Had a friend weld a bolt to the top of each stuck lifter, then used vise grips to pull them out.
