Title: Injection pump resealing problems.
Post by: Jesse H. on April 26, 2009, 12:03:57 pm
Hi, I resealed a 1.6 n/a pump and now it won't suck in fuel.  I assume the feed pump is the problem.  I know that the feed pump vanes are not in their original slots.  Is this critical?  I took the pump back apart to make sure that the feed pump pressure plate screws weren't to tight causing the vanes to stick.  They moved freely.  I reassembled and reinstalled the pump, but still no joy.  Any help would be most appreciated.  BTW, this is the second pump that I have tried and both have the same problem.  At least I'm consistent.

Are you getting good flow thru the pump to the OUT bolt when you crank?  If so, the vane pump is not the issue.

I primed the pump through the OUT hole.  Then I bled the injector lines.  The fuel line from the filter to pump input is clear and there is no fuel in it.  If I have something 180 out would that cause this problem?
