I am thinking my belt may be too short or I have it on wrong. Its not touching the water pump pulley at all.
-
I think I may have got the belt for the non AC engine.
-
From what I've seen, you can't run AC and the waterpump with the serpentine belt.
If you run AC, then the waterpump shares a separate V belt with power steering.
-
mine has the idler pulley on th water pump.
-
really? wow, in that case, can I have a picture of your setup? :)
what is that from?
-
I believe its the same as tdi, someone will correct me if i'm wrong...

If thats not close to your setup this PDF from VW should have a setup that matches yours.

well the guy I bought the engine from told me he set it up for that. maybe he didnt do it right it does look similar though to that PDF except the power steering pump was the only belt running on the vw belt. The rest has the serpentine pulley's on them. its from a 96 aaz engine.

I may have to take the AC off and worry about it at a later date.
-
Ok today I removed the AC going to have to work out a setup later to use my ac without the power steering pump

It actually has PS but its been Inop for a while do to the many many leaks from the front to back. The more I dig into this van the more I think someone ran it through some very rough terrain.
