bump, have both still, ill write some more details since i have some time.
on the 89... new water pump(two weeks ago) and alt last fall ($275 new!) on the 89... will give receipts for warranty. Has gov mod and giles refreshed pump in '06 (that's how it was advertised to me, dunno what it really means for performance). A/C system removed with the exception of the pump.. Noisy starter(always starts though) and exhaust hanger broken near the back (hits cross member-- needs a new coat hanger :)) The 89 was built up by someone on vortex and has custom paint job(but i bought it off someone on here). Aftermarket suspension (front is really solid)
the 92 had tie rods, ball joints, and 1 strut mount replaced and alignment last fall, new fuel filter, air filter and thermostat, drove it all winter. Missing front grill VW thing.. fell out when I bumped a snow bank and I didn't realize, probably could use a clutch(doesn't slip), I have a used set to throw in with it.
dunno about cross border? I really just want someone to make me a reasonable offer and get them outta my yard (not ..how about $500 for the pair!)

the 89 has developed a up and down rev'ing at idle, drives fine, seems ok when warm? It got really low on fuel last tank, might be related to that, put $20 in it now, I don't give a f*ck to fix it, take the 89 for $400! (without the rims and battery) its the one on the left.
i'll put some crappy 13's (and maybe the donut) on it for you to take it away.

if they will drive/roll ~300 miles I am interested interested. the car club meets next weekend, and I'll see if the group is interested in picking these up for parts. It's not a deal breaker, but out of curiousity, what tranny codes do these cars have?

the 92 is sold(i was sad to see it go!), come get the 89 for parts or fix people.
i don't know the trans codes... the 89 has the proper diesel ratio trans in it though.

Would you sell the injector pump, lines, intake, exhuast and turbo? (basicaly all the parts to do a n/a to turbo conversion) i'll give you the $300 you want for the whole car and pay actual shipping to Texas, then you could sell the rest of car to junk yard for $80-100 to pay you for your labor? ;) I've got a '82 caddy thats down with a bad pump and would really like to add some power with a turbo setup since i have to do the pump anyways.

ill think about it, can you wait until next week for an answer, im going away until tuesday now anyways, and have no time? ill have to price out postage too, might be somewhat expensive ($100+)

My recommendation would be to not ship with UPS. You will get nailed with brokerage fees (probably in excesses of what the shipping costs are) Go with Canada Post. More expensive up front but cheaper in the long run.
I also don't think you could safely package everything into that sized box, and it'll probably weigh more then 50 lbs ;)

Thanks for the suggestion. :) Ya when i was getting a quote i just threw out some qwik numbers on the size and weight so i'll do a few minutes of research before getting next quote. LOL
