Title: Turbo 1.5 Samurai
Post by: UnderPSI on April 05, 2009, 01:06:41 am
Got my turbo on, it's a little KO3. Runs great except for the crankcase is getting more pressure than my cylinders. Holy tons of blowby.

those old 1.5L engines were bad for that. They had to make up a funky oil seperator system to reduce (not prevent!) oil runaway.
My old 1.5L rabbit (non-turbo) had better 5th gear acceleration in runaway with the key off, than normally with the pedal to the floor.  :D

on my old 1.6 it helped alot when i added an extra breather to the front of the block where the vacuum pump drains oil back in i just connected it to the hose up top at the valve cover, all my oil blow by and run away problems were solved.

I have 3 crankcase breathers, it helps, but still spits oil out. I'll see if I can get some pics.

i have a crankcase breather and a valve cover breather. and they are both running to a oil recovery can. and then the blow by runs right into the intake about 2 inches above the turbo. my engine likes to blow oil out the dip stick hole. its a really old block and the stick doesnt have a tube to go in or nothin, just sits in the block. and it doesnt seal very good.

exhaust pipe and radiator hose, it's the cheap way. I don't care about looks, just if it works.

I don't have any videos, it is a lot better than the stock 1.3 that came out of it.
