I am trying to install my mocal sandwitch plate but cant due to the fact no one in this VW forsaken area I live in can come up with the correct pipe thread to match it so I cant even re thread the stock one I have thats too long. Does any one have one of the shorter tubes or know a part number of the item or if anyone produces them. Need this info asap can anyone help me?

doesn't give too much info about thread etc.. otherwise you could probably just use some type of galvanized/steel pipe and thread it?
but if yours is too long, you could always hacksaw it to the right length and re-thread it... the ETKA doesn't list the length of the non oil cooler one :( maybe someone can measure?
edit: just saw that you can't get the right re-thread... :(

Thread is 3/4-16. Might be hard to find if you need a length that is different from standard VW. If the length that is used w/ standard VW oil coolers will work 1 800 VWparts has them for a couple of bucks.

I offered to do it for you quite some time ago. Napa has the die and a die stock for not a lot of money. Chances are, you won't find an OEM application for that tube nipple.

finding anything metric in my town here is like looking for hens teeth. I even went to fastenal recently for some exhaust studs and nuts had to buy an entire box of each to get them and it took two weeks. but I will see if napa can order that die size they dont stock it however.

I managed to cut down my 16v gasser when i put the oil cooler on, takes a bit of fiddling to get the threads to line up but it works. Just use the 2 nuts trick to get the threaded tube back on tight.

ahhh a crossover pitch that would be the problem, Im looking for entirely the wrong thing. well looks as if I need to go shopping again.

In my Craftsman Metric tap and die set - the largest they sell - it has NPT taps for 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2", so they consider National Pipe Thread to be part of the metric system.
