looking at a 97 MK3 with 366,000km on it. motor was rebuilt around 300,000km. Good buy?

i think the '97s have the TDI crank nose, but better inspect it for wobbling, etc.  if it has a/c then expect it an issue in the near/long term future.

that depends on the quality of the rebuild and what was done... were the main bearings replaced, seals, pistons checked for proper bore etc.  or was it a top end rebuild only?

how is the turbo ( probably a K03 )

also how is the floor? mk3's tend to rot under the front floor near the seams and cancer out from there.

and last but not least what price is this gem  :?:  :P

New Clutch, New altenator, New Brakes, AC, Cruise, Moonroof, No RUST, complete rebuild, ...these cars are like crack, once you get hooked can't get rid of them...i traded my 2001 Protege with the busted tranny for it... :lol: hes bringing it to me sunday, plated and inspected for a whole year :P lol
