Title: T3 on a TDI
Post by: dieselherb1 on March 22, 2009, 07:34:55 pm
I'm wondering if a T3 turbo would work better on a MTDI engine than on a 1.6TD?

i have a K24, and while it does lag, it seems to be good.  EGT is pretty low, but i haven't really given it a good run yet, because the clutch won't hold the power.

It is a T# from a VW 1.6TD engine. Would you say the K24-T3 are similar in size? I have a K03 I want to put on the 1.6 engine hoping it will spool up faster.

some say the K24 is a little better than the T3, other say the reverse.  they're about the same, but i think the K24 is a little more efficient.

a K03 would be well suited to the 1.6.  it would most likely change the torque curve considerably.
