81 Caddy, MK1. It was getting hard to start, the reason was no power at the G-plugs, fuse is good, back to the relay, test light shows no power. Where does the wire from the relay start from? I guess I need to trace it back from the beginning.

So you checked for power at the 2 large spade terminals where the GP relay plugs into and there was nothing? What were you grounding to?
If that's the case, drop the fuse panel and you should see a large red wire (maybe red/black, I don't have my bentley ATM) coming from the back of the GP relay. Follow that one.

I followed it back to where it was connected. At the bolt on the starter. The connection had a couple of iffy splices in there. Cut out the splices and gave it it's own dedicated cable. :twisted: They function correctly now.
The starter still turns slower than it should. :x

Do a voltage drop test on the wires going to and from the starter

I had an extra starter, installed it. That was the problem, starts way better now.
