Title: Where is the Engine code/number?

Hey guys!

I wanna know where is the engine code and number on the block of MK4 2002 TDI golfs. I was having a look and found this writtion on the block.

038AA 80HBH V300.

What does this mean?

It should be or was on the top cam gear cover.

Or on the sticker on the trunk floor.

The sticker in the trunk is not there. Dont have he owners manual as well.

Isn't engine number/code suppose to be somewhere on the block instead of head?

First of all where did the car originate from. If it was produced in Asia we may not have the exact same model engine. If you could post a couple of photos, one of us here may be able to identify it.

The car is prolly made in Germany.

Its a UK spec, was bought from uk and sent to Pakistan.
