if i push the throttle linkage on my pump down, the revs die down, and sometimes when im driving and stop at lights it revs up on its own.
am i right in thinking that this isnt normal, healthy behaviour for an IP?
mk2 GTD with AAZ by the way
-
Anyone?
Please?
-
I wouldn't call that normal healthy behavior, no...
Does it seem like the linkage is binding?
-
Maybe the throttle cable is adjusted too tight?
-
the cables pretty slack tbh, stops me racing around too much.
linkage wise verythings still free moving, but its as if theresa bush of some description thats worn ot, but damned if i know where :?
-
I believe there is a bushing in there for the throttle shaft is your shaft seal also leaking by chance :?:
-
no leaks that i can see no
-
backing off the idle screw may make the weird increase in RPM on stand still go away?
pushing the throttle linkage and the rpm going DOWN i don't understand :( sorry
sounds like something internal like the governor or ... maybe the position of the boost pin?
-
almost sounds like your pump is sucking in air... either that or there is some severe vacuum on the fuel lines... (bad check valve or water separator)
-
i thought about air leaks too, but ive sat on the wing as weve driven along, and i cant see any bubbles in the lines under load.
the section that moves is in blue, but everything in the red is connected, so it all moves:

im puzzled
:?

UPDATE: i tracked the sticking idle down to the cable, it wasnt greases in the rubber bush on the gas pedal, but now im experiencing another problem.
the pump surges and seems to have a definate "pulse" to it at idle, and even if i turn the max fuel screw out it still revs itself back up again :?
does anyone have any idea whats going on?
because im totaly stumped :(
