I'm looking for pics of the Garrett T2s if you've got some could i see them? Thanks Ones from the VW diesels.

TurboJ, what's that sensor on what looks like the oil feedline?

It's actually the water line for the cooling of the bearing housing.
The sensor is the heat sensor that controls a separate turbo coolant pump.
When the turbo cooling water temperature reaches a set level,
the coolant pump is turned on and the coolant will flow until the liquid is cooled below the set level again.
And yes, that is a factory VW system!
I believe only the T2 had factory water cooling?

Interesting. And thanks for the pic. I haven't seen to many T2s and am pondering some compound/twin thoughts.

I don't see the coolant connectors on your T2...?
Does that mean only some T2s had water cooling?

that is correct, mine did not have water cooling. Turbo came out of a 1993 passat.
