Title: How to recognise crankshafts?
Post by: Torchd on February 18, 2009, 08:53:03 am
How to recognise crankshafts?

I have two shafts which have the following numbers and figures on them in different places but no part numbers....

GER44   DE   068F   F   T31448.

GER52   DE   068F        P51448.

Would any one know from which engine are these shafts from?

Thanks.

I just looked in Vagcat and neither one of those numbers pull up anything. They may be the manufacturers #'s and not VW's . They are both diesel though. If you have them in your hands can they be checked side by side with a vernier or a whatsamacallit [sorry i have the flu and my brain isn't working too well at the moment]. Or a good  machine shop might be able to check them.

another Etka quest returned:

jk/JR/cr/jk/CY/SB/RA..... : 068 105 101 M
AAZ/1Y....  : 028 105 101 J
1Z :  : 028 105 101 L

so as 105101 basically says its a crankshaft, the reference can be 068M, 028J or 028L respectively, I searched the 068F, but found nothing
