Post by: thajuicedr on August 08, 2005, 04:09:51 pm
I am looking at an intercooler from and Audi 5000.  How much should a used one cost and how much should i expect to pay for all the required hoses to install it on a '93 stock td?  Thanks.

I got 1 for $40 here in B.C.
The piping is whats gonna costs you a lot, depending on what you use. Silicon tubing is expensive, about $20 per joint and $10 per high pressure clamp.

most of us cheapos use radiator hose and mandrel exhaust pipe - you can mock it up, go the auto store, pick out what hose has all the bends you need.

Silicone and turbo spec'd pipe and clamps are better for flow, high pressure, and reliability. Check ebay.

Either of you guys have the dimensions of this intercooler?  If I can find a spot that it'd fit in my '79 rabbit, I'll buy one!  Maybe both!
