Title: WTB: '99 beatle vacuum motor, closes flapper in airbox
Post by: fatmobile on February 16, 2009, 10:04:20 pm
I'm not sure what it's called.
It closes the flapper in the airbox.
 We're working on a '99 Beatle and it's broken.
 Anyone know what it's called?
 Where to find one?

so its the anti shudder valve? vacuum operated?  newer ones use a servo motor to actuate the 'valve'

Yes, it is a vacuum operated butterfly,..
we got the head on it today but I forgot to check what they call it.
They said he couldn't buy it seperately, had to buy the whole piece,... according to the dealership.

Might have been hooked to the MAF.
