turn the idle screw out more.
turn the fuel screw back out.

could play with the residual fuel screw but it's not recommended, by me anyways...

i dident really turn the fuel screw in that much 1 1/2? the idle is almost bottemd out also would i have to  adjust the fuel again when i put a 1.6 boost pin in my aaz?

possibly....?
but boost pin won't effect fueling at idle, only under boost right.

540 degrees is a fair bit for the fuel screw (when adjustments are measured in 1/4 turns and sometimes 1/8th turns....  Have you driven it like that yet?
Do you have an EGT set up to watch the temp's rise?

http://www.dieselvw.com/EGTGauge.htm

I have that gauge and im very happy with it for the price. bright LED lights. warning light and so on. Nice gauge for under 50$.

(just have to cope with it saying "typeR" sigh  :( ) oh well  :P

where does it ship from?

look for other stuff you may want on there. If you get enough items he pays shipping i believe. Don't get a HG though. He gets cheap prices for Chinese parts so no genuine German stuff i don't think...

I like the site, it kept my little turbo deeze alive. Lots of people don't like it because it's so cheap but you get what you pay for. Sounds like your build is like mine   in the "total car cost + build cost under 1k" category hahaha

south Carolina i think.
I had a dismal time receiving the wrong parts and not getting what i ordered so be weary of that. Don't depend your build on it. The customer service is pretty shabby as well. (made it really bad because it took two weeks 1 way with shipping with where i live)

This is my favorite site, Canadian too.
http://www.importcarpartscanada.ca/

was referred to it from someone on this forum. really glad i did. I got rod bearings, door handles and some other stuff. really really fast shipping. They use couriers.
shipping can bite you in the ass sometimes though so be careful.

exactly cheap is good but i don't know too much about tuning...i want to know more....but i don't want to cook the motor either...whats the normal running temp???

well normal running temp is relative. But aluminum melts pretty easy so a little rule of thumb (i think? don't quote me! for the love of god don't quote me!) never go above 1,200F ?

Duratem glow plugs are 11$ each on there holy crap. Im having fun making a fake shopping cart :P i have no money. being laid off sucks the big one.

hit the pizza the hutt up for their used cooking oil too... that should save you even more cash

aircraftspruce sells very fast reacting thermocouples & gauges to monitor EGT.  i got mine for about $70.  with the US dollar being what it is, it is about $83 + sh.  customs are ***es here in Canada... any packages with parts in them are also mishandled...

my aircraftspruce gauge did break on me though, but i didn't have it fastened anywhere so it flopped around.  very quick reacting!!
