I thank yous all for all your help in the past months on my adventures with diesels. However where i live i need a car that i can rely on and i had to sell my 2 diesels and buy a new car...I appreciate all the help i got during my conversion, but i had so many electrical bugs i couldn't keep the car on the road anymore. We are already thinking about getting another running diesel to play with later in the year, but for now i'm back to driving a gasser

electrical bugs... on a mechanical diesel... hmmmm

i've seen people use household light switches to control the rad fan, glow plugs... couldn't have been that bad?

Touch the Ebrake and the gauges shut off, the headlights would shut off when driving(even at night) and i do alot of highway travelling to have it doing that.

Interesting...

If those are the only issues it wouldn't be too hard a job to replace "most" of the wiring considering how simple of a system it is. But it also depends on what kind of time you have and so on. I hope your new purchase goes well!

Ha Ha"  It's funny that you mentioned about the household light swiches, I just did that this week on my new engine downstairs while I've been test running it, one for the glow plugs and one for the fuel solenoid and gauges. Plus a remote starter button.  I was thinking I had some toggle switches laying around but found the house switches and figured if they're good enough for 110 they ought to be good for 12 volts, they work real nice for testing.  A little big for a dash pannel though, especially with the coverplate
