Title: Overboring a 1.9 TDi
Post by: superspringer on January 13, 2009, 05:48:25 am
Does any one have experience in increasing the displacement of a 1Z / AFN 1.9 TDi motor? How much can safely be removed from the block and what pistons are good and reliable to use?

You can put 2.5 pistons in it I think, and get a 2 liter.

I'm planning on building a TDI I'm interested in the 2.5 pistons. Is there a write up on it?

Oh man, this I wonder I could know ! I'm regularly posting about head gasket issues for 1Z/AFN/AHU engines here and - nope - :|

oldskool rich manages to assemble a 2l engine using ALH parts also - see: http://vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=16143
