Title: Glow Plug Fuse Strip
Post by: boosted_diesel_84 on January 10, 2009, 03:56:05 pm
so i was rewiring my GP's today, and my fuse literally crumbled in my hand, is this something i would be able to get at an auto parts store, or do i have to get one online, cause i need it as soon as possible. and the ones i found are either 50amp or 80, which do i need? its a 85TD motor if that matters and looks like this

The 50 amp one I believe was for the slow GPs and the 80 for the fast. If you are going to a setup like Vince's with individual fuses you could use 20 amps per GP for the fast ones or 15amp for the slow...if you are going to order one of the ones listed on the search link you provided buy like 6 of the one you need as they always break. At least they did for me.

If you need to run the car you can make a jumper wire out of some wire 10 gauge would works. I always carried a screw driver and a wire like that just in case. As long as you pull it off after the car is running it can't cook you GPs. I never took mine off when I used it though I just ran it until I got another fuse.

Man I put the whole Holmes county because I knew no one would know about Millersburg which is where I reside. Holmes county is located about 1.5 hours north of Columbus and south of Cleveland. Coshocton county is just south of me and Wayne county on the Northern side. I guess if you need you could googe or yahoo Millersburg at this point. NOT MUCH HERE.
