Post by: Turbo Turtle on July 25, 2005, 08:34:52 pm
i was wondering if anyone changed the glow plug relay on the mk1s so they glow faster... the stock one takes forever compared to the newer models.
thanks mike

You need to change both the relay and the glow plugs. The fast glow plugs and relay for a mk2 will solve your problem.

You can also trigger the relay with the opening of the doors.

Turbo turtle...

Would you like a hand resizing your avatar (the image of your caddy)?  It really makes your messages/threads display in a strange way making it hard to read / respond.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you must us a relay with wiring:

86 to the door-pin (ground)
85 to constant 12v
30 to constant 12v
87 to pin 86 of the timerrelay, dunno which color wire that is (or if it even has a wire in the wiringharnass

Then when you open the door the relay is closed and the glowrelay is triggered.
